What a weekend on the RPM Centre R1

Round 3 of the SA SBK National championship – Killarney International Raceway.
Coming in to the weekend we knew it was important to be ready to fight for the win. After such a difficult round 2, where we ended with low points, we knew what needed to be done to get back into the championship hunt.
Friday Qualifying 1 – 3
It took us a bit of time to find the pace and the feeling that we had had been looking for all season. We knew that once we could get to grips with the RPM Centre R1 we would be right on it. After 3 sessions Friday we found ourselves starting P5 on the grid for both races and, most importantly, happy with the bikes set up for the race.
Race 1
We got to P4 on lap one. A 4 rider group had broken away all wanting the win. Our pace felt great and we felt comfortable on the bike. We settled in for a few laps before making more of a push to get to the front. It was an exciting race with a 4 way battle for the lead between us, Clinton Sellers, Lance Isaacs and Hayden Johnas. On the last lap we managed to make a move in turn 1 and then pull enough of a gap to take the win. There is no better feeling than winning at home in front of the local fans and supporters.
Race 2
Race two was much of the same from the start. The same 4 were in the mix all wanting the win. We tried to plan our attack at the right time but left it just to late finishing 2nd behind Clinton.
Super happy with our overall Overall P1.
Overall we are really happy with the outcome of the weekend. Now to keep the momentum rolling heading into Round 4. We are ready for more action. It’s going to be an exciting season of batting for wins. 3 round done 3 different winners.
